Juanita "Nita" Delilah Westmoreland 
December 21, 1913 - September 19, 2014

Juanita “Nita” Kimbrough Westmoreland, 100, of Beaumont, went to her heavenly home Friday, September 19, 2014, following a lengthy illness. She died at Rose Place Senior Home in Port Arthur, Texas.

She was the daughter of the late Deborah O’Quinn and Alto Lee Kimbrough. Nita was born in Beaumont on December 21, 1913, and lived in the South Park area before moving to the Rosedale community in Beaumont. She graduated from South Park High School in 1931 and was a Greenie through and through. She was a member of Rosedale Baptist Church for more than sixty years. She and her husband, the late Garland S. Westmoreland, owned a gift and antique shop in Rosedale for more than thirty years.

Survivors include her daughter, Sue Croom and her husband, Larry, of Nederland; granddaughters, Cheryl Croom Tarver and her husband, Bryan, of Nederland, and Christy Croom Thomas and her husband, Bobby, of Groves; great-granddaughters, Kiley Roebuck of Nederland and Hailey Thomas of Groves; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and two brothers, LeRoy Kimbrough and Virgil Kimbrough.

The family will receive friends and family from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, September 22, 2014, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A graveside service for Mrs. Westmoreland will be Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s.

The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to the staff of Rose Place Senior Home in Port Arthur, Letitia Garrett, her caretakers, and River City Hospice for their care and support for Mrs. Westmoreland during her illness.
