Timothy “Timbo” Dwayne Davis, 41, of China, died Wednesday, September 10, 2014, at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. He was born on January 22, 1973, to Martha White Davis and Raymond Davis in Amarillo. Timothy worked as an automobile technician at Mike Smith Mercedes.

Survivors include his wife of thirteen years, Holli Davis; daughters, Ariel Davis and Hannah Davis; parents, Raymond and Martha Davis of Beaumont; sister, Kimberly Henley and her husband, Ronnie, of Kountze; nephew, Dylan Henley; nieces, Grace Caraway and Jorie Conn; mother-in-law, Jan Caraway; father-in-law, Tommy Caraway; sister-in-law, Shelly Caraway-Kominczak and her husband, Marcus; brother-in-law, Matthew Caraway; and numerous cousins, aunts, and uncles.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents; Bill and Florene Davis and Roy and Rosie White.

Timbo is one of two children born to his parents Raymond and Martha Davis.  He and his sister Kimberly grew up in Amarillo, Texas.  Timbo attended River Road High School and enjoyed playing trumpet in the high school band.  After high school he attended Job Corp in Roswell, New Mexico and studied plumbing.  He then came back to Texas and moved to the coastal area of Corpus Christi.  He has shared with many that he loved living on the coast as he has always loved to fish.  In 1996, his first child was born in Victoria, Texas – his beautiful daughter, Ariel Desiree Davis. After leaving the coast, they moved to Beaumont where he met his beloved wife, Holli Jan Caraway, and married her November 18, 2000.  With great pride and joy, Timbo and Holli then gave birth to his second child, Hannah Elaine Davis.  Timbo worked as a diesel mechanic and automobile technician for 13 years.  His last job that he enjoyed the most was with Mike Smith Mercedes. Timbo and his family lived in Beaumont until 2003, and then he, Holli and the girls made their last home together in China, Texas.

Timbo accepted Christ into his heart at the age of 38 years old.  He truly was a changed man and immediately began serving others and encouraging others towards the ways of the Lord.  He immediately became highly active in Bible study – not only being involved in a men’s weekly Bible study hosted at his cousin in law - Rodney’s house, but also hosting a weekly Bible study at his own home.  He bought Bibles for many friends and loved ones, even had some of them personally engraved for that special person.  It was apparent, Timbo had an immediate passion to let others know that he had found the love of God through Jesus and wanted the same for everyone he met and loved.

One month after his 39th birthday, Timbo was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and the fight was on!  During this time, he had two women that spent days and nights, months and years, at his side fighting this cancer with him – his beloved Holli and his mother in Love – Jan Caraway.  Little did he know that his relationship with his mother in law would become so close as they spent many hours in conversation – dreaming, planning trips/travels and having “adventures”, as they would call it … all the while becoming great friends.

His final days were spent at M.D. Anderson, surrounded by the love of his family.  He was very thankful for all the love, prayers, and kindness shown to him and to those that loved him.

A gathering of his family and friends will begin at 1:00 p.m. with his funeral service to follow at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 14, 2014, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium in Beaumont.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any FivePoint Credit Union referencing Holli J. Davis, special savings 2, account number 60669-2, to help the family with medical expenses incurred during his illness over the last few years.
