Lummie Louise Hartley 
December 12, 1928 - September 3, 2014

Lummie Louise Hartley, 85, of Silsbee, died Wednesday, September 3, 2014.  She was born on December 12, 1928, in Brooks Community, Panola County, Texas, to Julia Ross Hardin and Birdie Hardin.  Louise had worked as a clerk for Hardin Drug and was a member of First Baptist Church, Silsbee.

 

Survivors include her daughters, Mary Womack and her husband, Jimmy and Sandra Bailey and her husband, Daniel, all of Silsbee; grandchildren, Patricia McDonald and her husband, Reverend Nathan McDonald, of New Castle, Oklahoma; and Kristi White and her husband, Reverend Benjamin White; Casey Jo Womack; Ashley Brinkley and her husband, Craig; and Christopher Bailey, all of Silsbee; great-grandchildren, Bentley, Maddilyn, Emily, Addison, and Julia; brother, J.B. Hardin of Salado; sister, Willa Skidmore of Carthage; brother-in-law, Edd “Doc” Avery of Lumberton; sister-in-law, Allene Allred of Longview; special daughter, Cheryl Ann Owens of Silsbee; and numerous nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jodie S. Hartley, Jr.; son, Alan Wayne Hartley; brothers, Jearl Hugh, John Ross, and JR; and sister, Shirley Avery.

 

A gathering of Mrs. Hartley’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 5, 2014, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, September 6, 2014, at Broussard’s with interment to follow at Resthaven Cemetery, Silsbee.

 

The family would like to thank the staff of Pine Arbor Nursing Home and Rena` Droddy and Cynthia Bledsoe of Professional Health Care Hospice for the loving care given to Mrs. Hartley.
