Elizabeth W. Holliday, 91, of Beaumont, died
Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at Harbor Hospice of Beaumont. She was born on
November 29, 1922, to Mabel Ehret Williams and Robert Williams, in Kirbyville.
Elizabeth was a 1939 graduate of South Park High School,
received an Associate in Arts Degree from Lamar in 1941, and then graduated
from The University of Texas with a Bachelors Degree in Business in 1947. She
married Jim Holliday on May 31, 1948, and retired from South Park Independent
School District as an elementary teacher.
Survivors include
her daughter, Margie Hebert and her husband, Ron, of Dickinson; son, Jim
Holliday and his wife, Sue, of Beaumont; five grandchildren, Meagan Holliday
Welch and her husband, Jake, of Cypress; Ryan Holliday and his wife, Jennifer, of
Beaumont; Connie Hebert Dillon and her husband, Mike, of League City; Brian
Hebert and his wife, Roxanne, of Dickinson; and Allen Hebert and his wife, Rebecca,
of League City; eight great-grandchildren, Justin and Kaitlyn Dillon, Makayla and
Christian Hebert, Grayson, Carter, and Serefina Hebert, and James Holliday; brother,
Ralph Williams; sister, Ethel Baker; sister-in-law, Billie Matherson; and numerous
nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in
death by her husband of fifty-three years, Jim C. Holliday; and brothers, Kenneth
Williams, Emory Williams and Robert Williams.
A gathering of Mrs. Holliday’s family and
friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Saturday, August 30, 2014, at
Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be at
2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 31, 2014, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at
Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
The family would like to express sincere
appreciation to past and present staff at Harbor Hospice for the four years of
kindness and outstanding care she received.
