C.W. Lowe, 87, of Winnie, died Thursday, August 21, 2014, at The Arboretum Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Winnie. He was born on October 7, 1926, in Quinton, Oklahoma, to Blanche Martindale and Wesley James Lowe.
C.W. was a United States Army and Air Force veteran having served during World War II. He loved to barbeque, play his guitar, and travel.
Survivors include his son, Kenneth Lowe and his wife, Rene, of Livingston; daughters, Kathy Thibodeaux and Karen Bertrand and her husband, Mitch Wheeler, all of Winnie; and Kaye Smith and her husband, Jessie, of Evadale; sisters, Belle Burley of Houston, Catherine Weekly and Velma Reid both of Winnie; grandchildren, Misti Smith, Brandy Thibodeaux, Dustin Lowe, Jeremy West, Aaron Adams, April Bertrand, Ashley Wilson, T.J. Bertrand, Amanda Wheeler, James Wheeler, Kahl Lowe, and Kamron Lowe; sixteen great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Salwender of Germany; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Teddy; three brothers; and one sister.
A gathering of Mr. Lowe’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, August 23, 2014, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer, Winnie. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 24, 2014, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Winnie.
