William Howard Ewing, Jr., 78, of Kountze, died Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont.  A native and lifelong resident of Kountze, he was born on June 9, 1936 to Addie Eleanor Elmer Ewing and William Howard Ewing, Sr.  Willie was retired with Drainage District 6 in Beaumont as an equipment operator.

Survivors include his children, Mike Ewing and Amanda Marie Ewing Wright, both of Kountze;

grandchildren, Landon Colt Ewing, Macaytlen Michelle Ewing, Christopher Taylor Goodson, and Bailey Cheyenne Goodson; brother, Jimmy Ewing and his wife, Juanita, of New Iberia, Louisiana; step-daughters, Lavern Lamborn and her husband, David, of Woodville and Nora Farias of Kountze; and former wife, Ollie Mae Ewing of Kountze.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and son, Robert Ewing.

A gathering of Mr. Ewing’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 22, 2014, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.  His graveside service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 23, 2014, at Old Hardin Cemetery, Highway 326, Kountze.
