Eddie L. “Eli” Whittaker, 53, of Beaumont, died Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. He was born on February 19, 1961, to Betty Lou Dotson and Edward C. Whittaker, in Kingsport, Tennessee. Eli enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, and making homemade bows and arrows for his hunting trips. He was the hardest working and most loving man that was known.

Survivors include his wife, Rose Whittaker; mother and step-father, Betty Lou and Steve Garland; children, Daniel Fisher Benjamin Whittaker, Abigail Whittaker Perry, Zachary Whittaker, and Michael Whittaker; step-children, Norman Clark, Misty Witt, and Julie Faulkner; and seventeen grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his father, Edward C. Whittaker.

A family committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
