Alice Joyce Bernsen, age 84, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at Christus Hospital- St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. A native of Beaumont, she was born on September 17, 1929, to Alice Lacouture Bevil and Herschel Bevil.

Survivors include her sons, Michael Bevil Bernsen, Kelly Patrick Bernsen, Sr. and his wife, Katy, and Albert “Dutch” Bernsen, Sr. and his wife, JoAnn; daughters, Michele Bernsen Hall and her husband, Mike, and K.C. Cammareri West and her husband, Glenn; fifteen grandchildren; and twenty-one great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by parents; her husband, Kenesaw Bernsen, Sr.; and son, Kenesaw Bernsen, Jr.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Christus Hospital-St. Elizabeth and a special thank you to the nurses on 2 South.

A Rosary for Mrs. Bernsen will be recited at 6:00 p.m., with a gathering of her family and friends to follow until 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 15, 2014, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 16, 2014, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys Avenue, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
