Josie Pastorella Ames, 89, of Groves, died Thursday, August 7, 2014. She was born to Annie Cuccia and Carlos Pastorella, on May 14, 1925, in Port Arthur.

Josie enjoyed quilting, crocheting, playing nickel and quarter slot machines at the casino, and dancing.

Survivors include her husband, Paul F. Ames of Groves; daughter, Cheryl Sattler and her husband, Sam, of Spring; son, Billy G. Hinson, Jr. of Port Arthur; granddaughters, Sheila Colbourn and her husband, Frank and Carrie Farmer and her husband, Jason, all of Spring; and great-grandchildren, Lindsey Liuzzo, Matthew Liuzzo, and Zachary Farmer.

She is preceded in death by her brothers, Carlos and A.J.; and sister, Myrtle.

A gathering of Mrs. Ames’ family and friends will be at 6:00 p.m., Friday, August, 8, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 9, 2014, at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church, 2049 Taft Avenue, Groves, with interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
