Arthur Allen Furby, 85, of Beaumont died Thursday, July 31, 2014, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, in Beaumont. A native of Beaumont, he was born to Margie Pattillo Furby and Asher Barton Furby on August 5, 1928.

Survivors include his sons, Richard Furby and his wife, Tricia and Edward Furby and his wife, Sheri, all of Nederland; grandchildren, Allen Furby and his wife, Rosette of Albuquerque, New Mexico; Adrianne Nutt and her husband, Scott; James Furby; and Andrew Furby; great-grandchildren, Gracie Nutt and Natalie Nutt, all of Nederland.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Velma Furby; brother, Asher Furby; and sister, Martha Wagar.

A gathering of Mr. Furby’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, August 4, 2014, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. His graveside service will be at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 5, 2014, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s.
