Manuel Alfaro, Sr., 64, of Beaumont, died Friday, July 11, 2014, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. He was born on February 19, 1950, to Carmen Gooch and Antonio Alfaro, in Zacapu Michoacán, Mexico. Manuel enjoyed having family gatherings along with spending time with his grandkids and friends. His smile always lit up his surroundings and was always full of energy.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Alfaro; children, Manuel Alfaro, Jr. and his wife, Joanna; Gerald Alfaro and his wife, Ashley; Jorge Marcelo Alfaro and his wife, Destini; and Cristal Jean Godina and her husband, Angel, all of Beaumont; thirteen grandchildren; brother, Arturo Alfaro; and sisters, Rebecca Trevino of Monterrey, Mexico; Teresa Alfaro Torres and Maria Alfaro de Vargas, both of Zacapu Michoacán, Mexico.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Jesus Alfaro; and sister, Raquel Alfaro.

A Rosary for Mr. Alfaro will be recited at 6:00 p.m. with his gathering to follow until 9:00 p.m., Monday, July 14, 2014, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Cristo Rey Catholic Church 767 Avenue A, Beaumont, with his interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
