Rita Marie Hebert Bosse was born on February 21, 1916, on West Port Arthur Road to L. M. Hebert and Sadie O’Connell Hebert.  She died on July 6, 2014, at the age of 98 years. Mrs. Bosse graduated from Beaumont South Park High School in 1933 and from Marymount College in Salina, Kansas, in 1937.  She and William A. Bosse married in 1939 and had two sons, William A. Bosse, Jr. and Fred M. Bosse. 

Her husband, and her son, William Jr., preceded her in death, as did her sister, Ione Matthews; and brothers, Numa Hebert and L. M. Hebert. 

She is survived by her son, Fred; granddaughters, Susan Shenker, Marty Chapman, Heidi Germain, Portia Bosse, and Stacy Bosse; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Bosse enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, was an avid reader, and excelled at crossword and jigsaw puzzles.  A prolific knitter and quilter, she will live on through the many afghans, quilts, and baby blankets that she supplied to her family, friends, and church.

A Rosary for Mrs. Bosse will be recited at 6:00 p.m., with a gathering of her family and friends to follow until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at St. Jude Thaddeus Catholic Church, 6825 Gladys Avenue, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.
