Lewis E. Wallace, 88, of Nederland, died Thursday, July 3, 2014. He was born December 22, 1925, in Bessmay, to Ella Pool and Archie Lewis Wallace. Lewis lived most of his life in Nederland before residing in Buna for the last two and a half years. He was a United States Navy veteran and retired from Unocal as a process superintendent after thirty-six years of employment.

Lewis is survived by his sons, Lewis Allen Wallace and his wife, Jan, of Soddy-Daisy, Tennessee and Everette Lynn Wallace and his wife, Susan, of Buna; daughters, Linda Gail Wallace of Beaumont and Kerrie Lee Wallace of Willis; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and sister, Glennie Friesz of Nederland.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mona Lee Wallace; parents; brother, Weldon Wallace; and sister, Velma Jean McInnis.

The family would like to thank the staff of Professional Home and Health and Hospice of Beaumont and the care givers Ellen, Jo, Mandy, and Donna with Earth Angels of Beaumont for their compassion and care for Mr. Wallace during his illness.

A gathering of Mr. Wallace’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, July 5, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, July 6, 2014, at Broussard’s. A family committal will be held in Buna at a later date.
