Vessie Vernell Williams, 93, of Kountze, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at Harbor Hospice, Beaumont. She was born on February 13, 1921, in Shelbyville, to Mary Lee Carter Green and Vessie Carroll Green, and had been a resident of the area for the last fifty years.  Vernell was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church in Kountze.

Survivors include her son, Vessie Terrell “Terry” Williams and his wife, Diana, of Kountze; grandchildren, Shelley Deaver and her husband, Chet, of Kountze and Kimberly Boutwell and her husband, Kevin, of League City; great-grandchildren, Lauren Deaver, Caleigh Deaver, and Cade Deaver, all of Kountze and Kinsley Boutwell of League City; brother, Vance Green and his wife, Betty and Fred Green and his wife, Bessie Lou, all of Shelbyville; and sister, Johnnie Price of Center.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Terrell Thomas Williams; and sisters, Faye Green and Mary Ellen Sapp.
