Douglas N. "Bing" Crosby 
December 22, 1929 - June 30, 2014

Douglas N. “Bing” Crosby, 84, of Beaumont, passed away Monday, June 30, 2014. He was born on December 22, 1929, to Essie Ruth and George T. Crosby.

 

He retired from Texaco, Inc. on January 31, 1985, as employment supervisor of the E&S Department with thirty-three and a half years of company service. Doug, a Korean veteran, enjoyed extensive travel abroad and throughout America. He loved very much his family, his church family, and his wife of sixty-six years.

 

Survivors include his wife, Opal Langley Crosby; son, Mark D. Crosby and his wife, Reneé; grandsons, Jason R. Crosby and his wife, Risa; Justin R. Crosby and his wife, Jenna; great-grandsons, Colton, Cash, and Carson; and one great-granddaughter on the way, Kate.

 

Doug was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Rupert, Quinton, Preston, and Marshall; and sister, Clarice Goza.

 

A gathering of Mr. Crosby’s family and friends will begin at 9:30 a.m. with his funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, July 3, 2014, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery on highway 92 just past 1746 on the left near the Town Bluff area.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to a charity of one’s choice.
