Durwood F. Bottoms, Jr., 69, of Port Neches, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, June 27, 2014. He was born February 19, 1945, in Houston, to Marie Carmen Maenza and Durwood Ferris Bottoms, Sr.

Durwood was a beloved husband, devoted Dad, and a loving Papa to his three precious grandchildren. He was a member of Proctor Baptist Church and a former Deacon at Parkside Christian Church. After thirty-three years he retired from Bayer Corp. in Orange. He was a part of The ROTC at The University of Texas at Austin, an active member of the NRA, and loved hunting, fishing, and golf. Durwood also served on the Supervisory Board of Goodrich Credit Union.

He is survived by his wife, Kay Bottoms of Port Neches; father, Durwood F. Bottoms, Sr. and his wife, Louise, of Marquez; son, Jason Bottoms and his wife, Heather, of Kingwood; daughter, Jaelyn Pellegrin and her husband, Heath, of Groves; grandchildren, Mikaylie Pellegrin, Kaden Pellegrin, and Tayelor Bottoms; and sisters, Barbara King of Helena, Arkansas and Terri Rozell of Houston.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Marie Bottoms.

A gathering of Mr. Bottom’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 30, 2014, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
