Oscar L. Dickens, 85, of Beaumont, died Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont. A native of Carrizo Springs, Oscar had been a Beaumont area resident for fifty-two years.

He is survived by his sons, Lawrence Dickens and his wife, Dianne, of Houston and David Dickens and his wife, Becky Neil, of Beaumont; daughters, Shirley Jo Dickens-Wilson and Jan Scofield and her husband, Terry Robbins; grandchildren, Eric Dickens, Brandie Vanlenten, Shawna Sandoval, Lori Ann Smart, Crystal Dickens, Ron Grant, Christopher Scofield, Nicholas Scofield, and Jason Wilson; and eight great-grandchildren.

Oscar is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothey Dickens.

A memorial service for Mr. Dickens will be at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, June 22, 2014, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
