April 16, 1927 - June 14, 2014

James H. “Jim” Milner was born on April 6, 1927, in Zavalla, Texas, and died on June 14, 2014, in Beaumont, Texas. He lived most of his life in Beaumont and was a 1944 graduate of Beaumont High School. He remained as active as his body would allow and was actually doing yard work on the day he passed away.

He earned an Associate degree from Lamar Junior College and a BBA degree from Sam Houston State University.  He was a long time member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Jim worked for National Cash Register Company and Sun Oil Company before beginning a thirty-eight year career as an agent with Allstate Insurance Company. His wife of over fifty-seven years, Mary Lou Harmon Milner, passed away March of 2009.

Jim is survived by his two sons, Jim (Jr.) of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and Jerry of Austin, Texas; and six grandchildren, Justin of New York City, Lauren Renfrow of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Lydia and Johnathan of Corsicana, and Nick and Kelsey of Austin.

James had requested that no memorial service be held.  Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
