Althea Leona Hobbs, 90, of Vidor, died Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Vidor Health and Rehabilitation.

She was born on August 23, 1923, in Buna, to Dell Ruth Freeman Pool and Spencer J. Pool, and had been a longtime resident of the area.

Survivors include her son, Kirk Hobbs and his wife, Barbara of Vidor; grandchildren, Kevin Hobbs of Austin, Jeremy Hobbs and Jesse Hobbs, both of Vidor; and great-granddaughter, Pepper June Hobbs of Austin.

She is preceded in death by her husband, William Granger Hobbs; twin brother, Alfred Leon Pool; and brother, H.S. Pool.

A gathering of Mrs. Hobbs’ family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland. Her graveside service will be 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, 3098 U.S. Highway 69, Nederland.
