Calvin
Russell Heartfield, 87, was born January 11, 1927, in Beaumont, to Edgar and
Neely Heartfield. He passed away on June 8, 2014, in Katy, Texas.
Russell
graduated from Beaumont High School and studied at Lamar State Junior College
and The University of Texas. Mr. Heartfield served in the United States Navy during
World War II and later served in Japan in the United States Marine Corps during
the Korean War. He worked many years in Beaumont for Gulf Lumber &
Manufacturing, Wm. Cameron & Co., and Sears. A few years before retirement,
he lived in San Antonio, Texas. Russell and Mary Ellen Richter were married in
1966 and were active members of Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
Preceding him
in death were his parents; his wife, Mary Ellen Heartfield;
brother, Edgar Heartfield Jr. and his wife, Mary; brother, Earl Heartfield;
sister, Lelia Holton and her husband, Warren Holton; and nephew, Bobby Holton
Survivors
include nephews and nieces, John and Helen Scottie Holton of Katy, Texas; Randy and
Mary Heartfield of San Marino, California; great-nephews and great-nieces,
Andrew Holton, Alison Holton-Wylie, Wesley Heartfield, Alison Moller, and Laura
Holtan.
Uncle
Russell will be remembered for his loving support and service to his family,
friends, and neighbors.
A gathering
of Mr. Heartfield’s family and friends will begin 10:00 a.m., with his funeral
service following at 11:00 a.m., Monday, June 16, 2014, at Bethlehem Lutheran
Church, 777 North 4th Street, Beaumont, with interment to follow at
Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin
Avenue.
