Ann LaVerne Sellers Perry, 77, of Houston, died Thursday, May 22, 2014. She was born on July 15, 1936, in Beaumont, to Aubrey and Ovilia Sellers. She attended St. Anne’s Catholic School during her early years and graduated from French High School in 1954. Mrs. Perry married the love of her life, Jim R. “Gink” Perry in 1956. With his job, they lived in parts of South Texas; Abbeville, Louisiana; Mallorca, Spain; and Maracaibo, Venezuela. Upon his death, she and her children returned to Beaumont and worked for Gulf States Utilities until retiring in 1994. She then moved to Houston to be near her children. Mrs. Perry was a long time member of St. Pius X Parish in Beaumont. Survivors include her children, Virginia “Ginny” Perry of Austin; Sharon Perry Martin and her husband, Mike, of Dallas; and Jim R. Perry, Jr. of Houston; grandchildren, Starla Huebner and Jim R. Perry, III; step grandchildren, Jennifer Saxena and Jacqui Thomisee; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; her husband’s parents, Edna and Grafton Perry; her siblings and their spouses, Helen Sellers, Glenn Pope, Ann and Allen Sellers, and JoNell and Calvin Sellers; and her long time companion, Maurice “Peck” McDaniel. Mrs. Perry’s memorial service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont.
