Sara Anne Shoffit, 87, of Wildwood, died Sunday, May 11, 2014.  She was born on January 24, 1927, in Clarksville, Tennessee, to Clara Dillard Hussey and John T. Hussey. 

She lived in Erin, Tennessee for eighteen years.  In 1946, she met and married the love of her life, Jearl Shoffit.  They moved to Houston where they lived for the next forty-two years.

Anne worked at Union Texas Petroleum for twenty-five years.  In 1987, after retirement, they moved to Wildwood and became active members of Wildwood-Village Mills United Methodist Church, where Anne sang in the choir.  She was also active in the Home and Garden Club, AARP, the Civic Club, and the Red Hat Society.  She always enjoyed playing cards and games with friends and family, of which she had many.

Survivors include her sons, John Wayne Shoffit and his wife, Kay, of Houston and Roger Louis Shoffit and his wife, Annie, of Beaver, Arkansas; grandchildren, Kimberly Shoffit, Kristen McKee, Erin Seilham, Sara Shoffit Baus, and Jonathan Shoffit; and four great-grandchildren.

A gathering of Mrs. Shoffit’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 14, 2014, at Wildwood-Village Mills United Methodist Church, 5943 FM 3063, Village Mills, under the direction of Broussard’s, Kountze.  Her interment will follow at 3:30 p.m., at Forest Park East Cemetery, 21620 Gulf Freeway, Webster, Texas 77598.
