Dane Courtney Cambern 
July 31, 1940 - May 2, 2014

Dane Courtney Cambern, 73, of Sour Lake, died Friday, May 2, 2014, at Christus Dubuis Hospital of Beaumont.  He was born on July 31, 1940, in Pampa, to Joyce Womble Cambern and Donley Dane Cambern.  Dane was a graduate of Texas Tech University with a Bachelors Degree in mechanical engineering.

 

Dane will be most remembered for his generosity, his love of golf, his wit, and always being quick with a joke, and most of all for being a devoted husband and daddy.

 

Survivors include his wife, Rhonda Cambern of Pinewood; children, Courtney Cambern of Pinewood and Mandi Cambern Modderman and her husband, Scott, of Rowlett; brothers, Grant Cambern and his wife, Pauline, of Amarillo and Kenny Cambern and his wife, Judy, of Pampa; sisters, Sharon Martindale and her husband, David, of Houston and Cindy Harris and her husband, Rick, of Pampa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; and daughter, Catherine Cambern.

 

A gathering of Mr. Cambern’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Monday, May 5, 2014, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Maltbie Funeral Home, 266 West 8th Avenue, Springfield, Colorado, with interment to follow at Springfield Cemetery, Springfield, Colorado.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Catherine Cambern Memorial Scholarship Fund, 8106 Portsmouth Drive, Rowlett, Texas  75088.
