Eloise "Baby Doll" Gore Bean

Eloise Gore Bean, 91, of Silsbee, entered into heaven Thursday, May 1, 2014. God in His sovereign mercy said her days of earthly service were over and that it was time to come home. She was born on June 4, 1922, in Silsbee, to Ada Eason Gore and W.K. Gore. She was known affectionately as, “Baby Doll”.
From her youngest years, she was taught by her mother to serve others, which she did faithfully until her passing. It was her joy to cook a pot of chicken and dumplings for anyone in need.
Survivors include her children, Harold Bean and his wife, Rosie, of Lumberton; Joanie Smart and her husband, James, of Silsbee; and Sandra Johnson and her husband, Lucky, of Temple; grandchildren, Jansen Bean and his wife, Amy, of Melissa; Brittany Bean of New York City; Stephanie Smart of Silsbee; Shannon Smart and his wife, Amy, of Kountze; Clint Callaway and his wife, Leslie, of Silsbee; Jamie Kerans and her husband, Thomas, of Lumberton; Rhonda Webster and Jonathan Webster and his wife, Alice, all of Vidor; Tracey Castle and her husband, Kenneth, of Lumberton; Susannah Bean Crohn and her husband, Andy, of Austin; and Travis Johnson and his wife, Jenny, of Temple; twenty-three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Doris Jeffcoat and Maxine Gilmore both of Silsbee; and daughter-in-law, Jo Bean of Sam Rayburn. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Maxie Maxwell Bean; son, Don Bean; brothers, Vernon Gore and Marshall Gore; and sister, Lorraine Paine.
A gathering of Mrs. Bean’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Wiley Mae Pentecostal Church, Highway 92 North, Silsbee. Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 4, 2014, at the church, with interment to follow at Cunningham Cemetery, 13173 FM 92 North, Silsbee.
