Virginia M. Patton, 99, of Beaumont,
died Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Calder Woods, Beaumont. She was born on June
5, 1914, in Osage, to Onie Weaver and Clarence Kahle Monroe.
Virginia was actively involved in
many church activities throughout her life. She was the second employee hired
by JC Penney in Beaumont and served as their office manager for thirty plus
years. She lived In Saudi Arabia for five years while her husband served as
Chief of Fire Prevention Engineering at Aramco. She enjoyed many trips
traveling throughout the world during her life.
She was also a member of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include her nephews,
James Monroe of San Antonio, Donald Monroe of Houston, and Barry Monroe of Long
Beach, California; nieces, Carolyn Monroe Ratliff of Pelham, Alabama and
Lindsay Monroe Smith of Missouri City, Texas; and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
She is preceded in death by her
husband, Earl Merriman Patton.
A gathering of Mrs. Patton’s family
and friends will be from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., Saturday, April 26, 2014,
at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be
2:00 p.m., Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at
Magnolia Cemetery, Beaumont.

in Mrs. Patton’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.
