Eugenia Clark, 78, of Kountze, died Sunday, April 20, 2014, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont.   A native and lifelong resident of Kountze, she was born on November 20, 1935, to Emma Wright Simpson and Clyde Simpson.  Eugenia was a longtime member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Honey Island where she worked in the nursery for many years.

Survivors include her husband of sixty-two years, Albert Clark; children, Angela Cherry of Kountze and Lydia Morse of Wildwood; sisters, Nellie Kayla of Winnie and Elmyra Clark and her husband, Lawrence, of Port Bolivar; grandchildren, Tara Perry and her husband, Jade, and Brooke Hawkins and her husband, Russell, all of Buna; Richard Cherry and his wife, Crystal, of Dayton; and Rodney Cherry and his wife, Jessie, of Kountze; great-grandchildren, Christy Lynn Cherry, Hanna Cherry, Austin Adams, Jaden Perry, Rylan Perry, Allie Perry, Gavin Hawkins, Riley Hawkins, and Rowdy Cherry; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relative and friends.

A gathering of Mrs. Clark’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.  Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 23, 2014, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Old Hardin Cemetery, Kountze.
