Richard Linn Loupe
March 26, 1958 - March 22, 2014

Richard Linn Loupe, 55, of Nederland, peacefully passed away at his home on Saturday, March 22, 2014 surrounded by his family. Richard was born on March 26, 1958, to Mary Lucille Loupe and Richard Royce Loupe. He was a lifelong resident of Nederland and Port Neches.

Richard spent thirty-seven years as an operator at Total Petrochemicals in Port Arthur. His closest co-workers affectionately called him “Ninja” describing a polite and quiet man with timely wit and a sense of humor.

Survivors include his wife and best friend, Tana; sons, Christopher and his wife, Ashley and Corey and his wife, Martha, all of Nederland; brothers, Michael Loupe of Arlington, Texas and Jeffrey Loupe of Riverside, California; his pride and joy, which are his grandchildren, Cade Loupe “Taco Bob”, Lily Loupe, and Royce Loupe; and numerous other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Diagnosed with cancer in August of 2012, Richard lived his remaining days with the same courage, selflessness, and dignity that characterized him for the previous fifty-four years. Most importantly, he leaves behind for us an example of how to love life and love others. He will be sorely missed and often remembered.

A gathering of Mr. Loupe’s family and friends will be at 4:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.  A family committal will be held at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
