Charles Elbert Carrell, Jr., 63, of Honey Island, died Monday, March 17, 2014.  He was born on September 16, 1950, in Raymondsville, Texas, to Virginia Davis Carrell and Charles Elbert Carrell, Sr. Charles was employed with Austin Industrial in Baytown as a pipefitter.

Survivors include his loving soul mate, his turtle dove, Ginger, of Honey Island; children, Tracy Hughes and her husband, Jesse, of Honey Island; Thomas “Bubba” Carrell and his wife, Heather, of Hardin; Charlene Carrell of Hardin; Tully Melancon and his wife, Lee Ann, of Moss Hill; Benjie Carrell and her husband, Joe, of Kountze; Wana Vestal and her husband, Bobby, of Hardin; Shaon Musslewhite of Ivanhoe; Ryan Melancon and his wife, Julia, of Hardin; and Gordon “PeeWee” Melancon and his wife, Kimberly, of Hull; sister, Lila Pearl Varner, and her husband, Toney of Liberty; brother, Joseph Pack Carrell and his wife, Benjie, of Kountze; thirty grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Virginia Davis Carrell and Charles “Bochie” Carrell; brother, Don Edward Carrell; granddaughter, Ivy Michelle Shannon; and niece, Christie Jo Carrell.

A memorial service for Mr. Carrell will be held at a later date. His committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont, under the direction of Broussards, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.
