James "Ed" E. Carrell 
February 26, 1938 - March 8, 2014

James E. “Ed” Carrell, 76, of Pinewood, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Harbor Hospice House, Beaumont.  He was born on February 26, 1938, in Merryville, Louisiana, to Lorene Foxworth Carrell and James Rudy Carrell.

 

Ed retired in 2003 with forty-six years in the engineering and design industry.  He was co-founder of Delta Design with Bob Miller in 1967.  Ed was proud of shooting his age in golf on multiple occasions and making two holes-in-one (both on the same hole).  He enjoyed playing golf with his regular group and fishing with his lifelong friend and brother-in-law, Ernest Williford of Lumberton.

 

Survivors include his children, James Randy Carrell and his wife, Wendy, of Pinewood; Jerry Lynn Carrell and his wife, Cyndi, of Charles Town, West Virginia; Sherrie Ann Carter and her husband, Mark, of Duncan, South Carolina; and Gordon Lee Carrell and his fiance’ Randi Rogers, of Humble; sister, Kathy Jane Pumphrey and her husband, Gary, of Warren; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

 

A gathering of Ed’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 11, 2014, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.  His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont
