Laura Josephine Songe Boring, 92, of Kountze, died Friday, March 7, 2014, at Kountze Nursing Center, Kountze.  She was born on November 16, 1921, in Beaumont, to Lucille Marie Williams Songe and L.J. Songe, and had been a lifelong resident of the area. Laura was in retail sales working for both The Fair and Gem Jewelry.

Survivors include her daughter, Betty Teel of Kountze; grandchildren, Robbie Teel and his wife, Kami; Ronnie Teel and his wife, Lori; Donna Rankin; and Angie Dickerson; great-grandchildren, Hailey Teel, Cody Teel, Rowdy Teel, Stormi Teel, Mason Dean, Kassidy Dickerson, Larkin Dickerson, Kiley Rankin, Jessica Rankin, and Hannah Rankin; sister, Anna Belle Hodges of Livingston; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father; husband, Bill Boring; second husband, Pat Walker; and son, Robert “Bobby” Boring.

A gathering of Mrs. Boring’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m., with her funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 10, 2014, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
