Jack Terry Belton, 83, of Beaumont, died Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. He was born on March 17, 1930, in Port Arthur, to Myrtle Brown Belton and Benny Belton, and had been a longtime resident of the area. Jack was an insulator with Chevron and retired after thirty-three years of employment. Jack served in many organizations. He was past president of Groves Jaycees and past president of March of Dimes. Jack was in charge of Telerama for March of Dimes for seven years; past president of Serra Club; and past president of Crystal Beach Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed building and remodeling. Jack was an excellent public speaker and was always there to help others in need. He is survived by his wife of sixty-four years, Dolores Belton of Beaumont; children, Myra Mitchell and her husband, Paul and Carla Mahan and her husband, Doyle, all of Beaumont; grandchildren, Lauren Mitchell, Jessie LeMaire, and Jason LeMaire; and great-grandchildren, Ray Bennett, Heather LeMaire, Lala LeMaire, and Chelsey LeMaire. Jack was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Benny Belton; and sister, Nina Radley. A gathering of Mr. Belton’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, March 8, 2014, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will 2:00 p.m., Sunday March 9, 2014, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow Greenlawn Memorial Park, Groves.
