Patricia “Penny” Smith, 50, of LaBelle, died Sunday, March 2, 2014. She was born on April 6, 1963, to Shirley Hollier and Jimmy Greer, in Morgan City, Louisiana. Penny was the kitchen manager for Pine Tree Lodge. 

Survivors include her sons, Jason Greer and his wife, Megan, of Conroe and Jacob Greer of Vidor; daughter, Katie Frazier of Vidor; brothers, Jimmy Kenneth Greer and Carl Anthony Grimes, both of Vidor, James Grimes of Houston, Charles Greer of Longview, and Bobby Grimes of Port Aransas; sister, Kathy Grimes of Houston; step-father, James Grimes, Sr. of Hemphill; grandchildren, Ava Greer and Jameson Greer; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.

A gathering of Mrs. Smith’s family and friends will begin at 9:00 a.m. with her funeral service to follow at 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 7, 2014, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Restlawn Memorial Park, Vidor.
