Eileen Frances Quick, 61, of Beaumont, died Monday, February 24, 2014. She was born on April 14, 1952, in Beaumont, to Elizabeth D. and David W. Quick.

Eileen attended St. Anne Catholic School and graduated from Beaumont High School and Texas Christian University. She was an accomplished teacher who enjoyed teaching and loved her students. Eileen taught at Fletcher Elementary, Assumption Catholic School, and retired from St. Anne Catholic School.  She was a sustaining member of the Junior League of Beaumont and a member of the Beaumont Tri Delta Alumna and Daughters of the American Revolution.

Two of Eileen’s favorite pastimes were the beach and gardening. She had a beach house she loved and lost in Hurricane Ike, on Atkins Road, on the Bolivar Peninsula. Eileen had an amazing green thumb and was always busy with her plants and flowers. She was an extraordinary aunt and spent many summers at the beach entertaining nieces and nephews. Eileen also loved to travel and was ready to head out on any adventure, a great and fun traveling companion for one and all. She was the best-we all loved her dearly and will miss her greatly. May she rest in peace. 

Survivors include her sisters, Kathleen Quick Sibley; Mary Ellen Quick Vivrett; and Julia Quick Mitchell and husband, James; nieces and nephews, Sarah Sibley Cox, Marilouise Sibley Avery, Kevin R. Mitchell, John D. Vivrett, and Katherine Grace Vivrett; great-nephew, Foster Avery; and great-niece, Elizabeth Mitchell.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A gathering of Ms. Quick’s family and friends will be Thursday, February 27, 2014, at 5:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m., followed by a Christian Vigil, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A committal for her cremated body will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 28, 2014, at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont.
