Winnie Frances Jackson 
December 28, 1924 - February 23, 2014

Winnie Frances Jackson, 89, of Beaumont, died Sunday, February 23, 2014, at the Village Creek Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, in Lumberton. She was born on December 28, 1924, in Silsbee, to Dora Carolyn Currie Hammons and Daniel Hammons, and had been a longtime resident of the area.

Winnie loved traveling, cooking, and baking her grandkids birthday cakes. She was a Cub Scout leader, a lifetime member and president of the PTA, and charter member of the Lumberton Baptist Church until she moved in 1966 and became an active member in the South Park Baptist church.

Survivors include her children, Betty Ruth Slovacek and her husband, Joe Roy; and  Ronald Lee Jackson and his wife, Paula Ann and Bruce Jackson III and his wife, Penny, all of Beaumont; grandchildren, Scott Jackson, Rick Jackson, Todd Jackson, Dede Little, Amanda Robbins, Rhonda Slovacek, Tina Wheeler, and Vicki Pulanco; great-grandchildren, Taylor Wheeler, Faith Wheeler, Mitch Wheeler, Jacob Wheeler, Michaela Pulanco, Cheyenne Pulanco, Hannah Pulanco, Marshal Pulanco, Clint Pulanco, Shelby Miska, Holly Little, Jackson Robbins, Mary Hester, Molly Hester, Jack Jackson, Scarlet Jackson, Walker Jackson, and Caroline Jackson; and great family friend, Annie Burkett.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Bruce Jackson, Jr.; brother, Daniel Hammons; and her parents.

A gathering of Mrs. Jackson’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 26, 2014, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 27, 2014, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
