Charles W. McCormick, 83, of Vidor, died Monday, February 17, 2014. A native of Village Mills, he was born on April 6, 1930, to Katie Yarbrough McCormick and Charles Willis McCormick. He was the owner of McCormick Sand Company.

Survivors include Susan McCormick of Vidor; granddaughter, Sarah Cleveland of Vidor; his nieces, Jean Hickman of Broaddus, Mary Cowart and Shelia Bowman, both of Kountze; nephews, Jeppie McCormick of Kountze and Jerry Wayne McCormick of Buna; along with many other loving nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his son, Charles Ray McCormick.

A gathering of Mr. McCormick’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 24, 2014, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Village Mills Cemetery, Village Mills.
