Gloria Mae Lee, 85, of Nederland, died Sunday, February 16, 2014.  She was born on November 24, 1928, to Elenora Becaisse Willis and Alfred Willis, in New Orleans, Louisiana.  Mrs. Lee enjoyed canning produce from the family garden.  She was very creative and loved to sew.  She was known as the “neighborhood Mom” and will be remembered as the matriarch of the family.

She is survived by her daughters, Claudia Lee and Priscilla Ramoin and her husband, Leonard; son, Donald Lee, all of Nederland; Calvin Lee and his wife, Sherry, of Brookland, Texas; Curtis Lee and his wife, Martina, of Buda; Minice Lee, Jr. and his wife, Ethel, of Lake Charles; grandchildren, Tiffany Ramoin Elmore, Joseph Ramoin, Jared Ramoin, Calvin Lee, Jr., Joshua Lee, Angel Price, Spring Turnipseed, Valley Richardson, Rose Lee, Johnny Lee, II; Salley Kay Gaspard, Lucky Holbrook; and B.J. Gibbs; eighteen great-grandchildren; and brother, Claude Willis of New Orleans.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Minice Lee, Sr.; and son, Johnny Lee, Sr.

A gathering of Mrs. Lee’s family and friends will be from 5:00p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, February 20, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.  Her funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 21, 2014 at Broussard’s. Her committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
