Gail Roork, 80, of Beaumont, died Thursday, February 13, 2014, at Christus Hospital-St Elizabeth, Beaumont. She was born on December 14, 1933, to Pearl Pippen Candler and William Adolphus Candler, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma. Gail retired as an insurance underwriter from Gulfcoast Insurance Agency, and she was a member of First Baptist Church in Beaumont. Survivors include her son, William David Roork and his wife, Alexa, of Sour Lake; daughter, Karen Sue Roork Corbello and her husband, David, of Beaumont; grandchildren, Brittany Corbello, Ellen Roork, Alex Corbello, Cale Corbello, and Elizabeth Roork; brother, Bill Candler, Sr. of Cushing, Oklahoma; sister, Pat Halcomb of Lake Jackson; and numerous loving nieces and nephews. A gathering of Mrs. Roork’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 17, 2014, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
