Bill J. Cook 
March 9, 1926 - February 9, 2014

Bill J. Cook, 87, of Beaumont, died Sunday, February 9, 2014, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. He was born on March 9, 1926, in Paris, Texas, to Willie Davis Cook and Robert G. Cook, and had been a longtime resident of the area. Bill received his master’s degree in music from North Texas University and he was a retired office manager with P.C. Pfeiffer Company, Inc.  He was a charter member and led singing at Westgate Church of Christ for forty years. He also served as a Deacon for many years.

 

Bill is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Bettye Cook of Beaumont; son, Larry Kell Cook of Dallas; sister, Lottie Novak of Abilene; brother, Jack R. Cook, Sr. of Beaumont; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Helen Roach and Thelma Castleberry; brother, Robert Cook, Jr.; and one nephew.

 

A gathering of Mr. Cook’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 11, 2014, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 12, 2014, at Westgate Church of Christ, 6390 Westgate Drive, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont.
