James E. Trussell, Jr. 
November 27, 1927 - February 4, 2014

James Ethridge Trussell, Jr., 86, of Beaumont, died Tuesday, February 4, 2014. He was born on November 27, 1927, in Muscogee County, Georgia, to Georgia Trussell and James E. Trussell, Sr., and had been a resident of Beaumont since 1986.

 

For more than twenty-five years Mr. Trussell was the CEO of Tuberculosis organizations in Georgia, Connecticut, Florida, and Houston, Texas. He was a licensed Texas Real Estate Broker and a licensed Texas Nursing Home Administrator in Bridge City and San Augustine.

 

Mr. Trussell was a graduate of Auburn University BS in Business Administration and graduate studies in Health Administration at Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. He served in the 20th Air Force, Guam, M.I., and a supporter of numerous veteran organizations.

 

Mr. Trussell is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Janie Duke Trussell; daughter, Karen Vander Molen and her husband, Brad, of Franklin, Tennessee; sons, Robert Trussell and his wife, Cindy, of Waterwood Resort, Texas and William Trussell of La Porte, Texas; grandchildren, Ricky Scott and his wife, Amanda, of London, England; Margaret Scott Schwaitzberg and her husband, Scott, of San Francisco, California; Amanda B. Scott of Lawrenceville, New Jersey; and Jonathan Vander Molen of Franklin, Tennessee.

 

Mr. Trussell was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Charles Trussell of Jonesboro, Georgia.

 

A gathering of Mr. Trussell’s family and friends will begin at 2:00 p.m., with his memorial service to follow at 3:00 p.m., Monday, February 10, 2014, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His committal was held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
