Ronald Eugene Chance, 42, died Tuesday, January 28, 2014. A longtime resident of Beaumont, Ron was born in Lafayette, Louisiana, on August 17, 1971, to Patricia Morris Chance and Lloyd Edward Chance.

Ron was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church and was involved in the Kairos Prison Ministry. His two boys were the absolute light of his life, and he adored them both.

He is survived by his two sons, Austin Chance and Gavin Chance, both of Beaumont; his parents, Patricia and Lloyd Chance of Woodville; his sisters, Stephanie Scoggan and her husband, Tim, of Montgomery, Alabama and Robin Rayburn and her husband, Matt, of Kountze; his brothers, Patrick Chance and his fiancée, Geneva Might and Chris Isaac and his wife, Irma, of Austin; his grandmother, Anna Marie Morris; and his uncle, Jerry Lee Morris, both of Dayton; and many nieces and nephews.

A gathering of Mr. Chance’s family and friends will begin at 10:00 a.m. with his funeral service to follow at 12:00 noon, Saturday, February 1, 2014, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont, with a private family committal to follow at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
