Curtis Lloyd Thompson, 72, of Silsbee, died Monday, January 27, 2014.  He was born on March 19, 1941, in Kirbyville, to Melda Bean Thompson and Curtis Thompson.  Lloyd served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War.  He later retired from the United States Post Office.

Survivors include his wife, Gwenn Thompson; daughter, Jennifer Willis and her husband, Timmy of Silsbee; son, Tommy Thompson and his wife, Shellye, of Silsbee; grandchildren, Kaitlinn Hollyfield, Lane Willis, and Jaxson Thompson; and sisters, Virginia Shelidon of Abilene; Essie Lee of Buna; and Kathy McBride and her husband, Weldon, of Silsbee.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of Mr. Thompson’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee.  His graveside service will be 12:00 p.m., Thursday, January 30, 2014, at Magnolia Springs Cemetery, Magnolia Springs.
