Louise Huff

Louise Hargrove Huff, 84, of Silsbee, passed away at Silsbee Convalescent Center on Thursday, January 23, 2014, with her family beside her. She was born on March 8, 1929, in Buna, to Maudie and Elam Hargrove. Louise was the youngest of three children; brother, James and sister, Marie; both deceased.
She spent her childhood in Buna with her very loving family and graduated from Buna High School. She then lived many years in Beaumont and the Mid-county area where she worked in banking and finance. She then began a second career by becoming a LVN. Later, Louise and her husband, Charles Huff, moved to Bandera in the Hill Country. While there she worked at the Bandera Nursing Home and provided much loving care to her patients.
Louise will never be forgotten for her beauty and her way of making everyone feel special and loved. She truly never met a stranger.
Survivors include her husband, Charles Huff; daughter, Donna Lane Hightower; two grandsons, Jud Hightower and his wife, Jocelyn, of San Antonio, and their daughter, Caroline; and Cort Hightower of Los Angeles, California; her grandson’s father, Cecil Hightower; stepchildren, Chuck Huff, Carl Huff, Casey Huff, Lisa Albers, and their families.
A gathering of Mrs. Huff’s family and friends will being at 12:30 p.m., with her funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 26, 2014, at Broussard’s, 490 Cemetery Road, Silsbee. Her interment will follow at Antioch Cemetery, Buna.
The family would like to thank the staff at Silsbee Convalescent Center and Altus Hospice for providing her with such loving care during her final days.
