Samuel “Sam” Leon Mook, 49, of Hamshire, died Friday, January 17, 2014, at Baptist Hospitals of Southeast Texas, Beaumont. He was born on November 4, 1964, to Hazel Odessa Williams and Robert Dunn Mook, Sr., in Beaumont. Sam was a maintenance technician for the Hamshire-Fannett Independent School District. 

Survivors include his mother, Hazel D. East of Hamshire; brother, John Mook and his wife, Julie, of Dayton; Jim Mook and his wife, Denise of Wylie; seven nephews; one great-niece; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

A gathering of Mr. Mook’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., with a prayer service to begin at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at Broussard’s, 134 West Buccaneer, Winnie. A family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
