Ruth Dutton, 74, of Lumberton, died Thursday, January 16, 2014, at Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth, Beaumont. A native of Lancaster, South Carolina, she was born on December 1, 1939, to Edna Threatt Carnes and Lee C. Carnes.

Survivors include her son, Richard B. Dutton of Lumberton; and brother, Charles Carnes and his wife, Claudia of Aledo, Texas. In addition she leaves behind many loving family and friends and especially her beloved, “CJ”.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Dutton; and her parents.

A gathering of Ms. Dutton’s family and friends will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., Monday, January 20, 2014, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. Her funeral service will follow at 6:00 p.m., at Broussard’s, with interment to be held in Lancaster, South Carolina.
