William "Bill" John McNeely 
January 28, 1943 - January 15, 2014


William “Bill” John McNeely, 70, of Lumberton, died January 15, 2014. He was born January 28, 1943, to Belinda Iris Edwards and William James McNeely in Sydney, Australia. Bill was a veteran of the United States Air Force Reserve. He retired from Total refinery after thirty-five years of service. During that time he held many different jobs and retired as #1 operator of the CAT unit. Bill was a Master Mason, member of Masonic Lodge #1315 AF & AM and also a member of OCAW Local 4-23. Bill enjoyed fishing and bowling.

 

He is survived by his wife of forty-seven years, Joyce McNeely; daughter, Joline McNeely; grandsons, Dakota Shifflette and Kade Davis, all of Lumberton; sister-in-law, Janet Skarbeck of The Woodlands; nephews, Brian Skarbeck of Dallas and Daniel Skarbeck of Austin; and will especially be missed by his faithful four-legged companion, Angel Rose.

 

Bill is preceded in death by his parents.

 

A gathering of Mr. McNeely’s family and friends will begin at 5:00 p.m., with a memorial service to follow at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, January 18, 2014, at Broussard’s, 505 North 12th Street, Nederland.

 

A private family committal will be held at Broussard’s Crematorium, Beaumont.
