Floyd W. Morrison, Jr., 90, of Bedford, died peacefully at Eden Estates, on Saturday, January 4, 2014. He was born on January 29, 1923, to Kathryn Hardee Morrison and Floyd W. Morrison, Sr., in Houston, and had spent most of his life in Beaumont. Floyd was a United States Navy veteran, having served in World War II. After graduating from the University of Houston, he worked at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as an engineer until his retirement in 1985.

Survivors include his sons, Jerry Morrison and his wife, Debby, of Euless and Gary Morrison and his wife, Connie, of Lamkin; grandchildren, Gary Morrison, Jr., Jason Morrison, Darren Morrison, and Kristen Baxter; and great-grandchildren, Wrangler Morrison, Matthew Morrison, Madison Morrison, Shelby Morrison, and Sydney Morrison.

He is preceded in death by his wife of sixty-four years, Joyee May Morrison.

A gathering of Mr. Morrison’s family and friends will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont. His graveside service will be 12:00 p.m., Wednesday afternoon, at Memory Gardens of Jefferson County, 3098 Highway 69 North, Nederland.
