Thurman L Capps, Jr., 62, of Kountze, died Saturday, January 4, 2014.  He was born on May 11, 1951, in Beaumont, to Carrie G. Reed Capps and Thurman L Capps. Thurman was a 1969 Lumberton High School graduate and retired from Exxon Mobil. Having many accomplishments in his lifetime, he was a hamm radio operator, a multiple engine pilot, and member of IBEW Local 479.

Survivors include his wife, Dorita Capps; sons, Heath Bradley Capps and Jaime Ryan Capps; daughter, Patrice Capps; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Terrell; and grandchildren, Jayce Ryan Capps, Skye Bleu Capps, and Carrington DeNae Gilpin.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Susie Capps; and son, Todd Christopher Capps.

A gathering of Mr. Capps’ family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Monday, January 6, 2014, at Broussard’s, 530 West Monroe, Kountze.  His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2014, at Broussard’s, with interment to follow at Hardin County Memorial Park, Silsbee.
