Vance James Hardy, Jr. entered rest on December 28, 2013, after a brief illness, in Lumberton.  He was born on April 22, 1947, in Port Arthur, to Geraldine Birdwell Hardy and Vance James Hardy, Sr.

Vance graduated from Bridge City High School in 1965, and Lamar University in 1970 and 1972 while earning a BBA and MBA degrees.  The majority of Vance’s professional career was spent working in the Technology Sector, living in Houston, Austin, and Galveston.

Vance is survived by his companion and dearest friend, Nancy Pearson Adams; daughter, Taylor Hardy-Phelps and her husband, Truman Phelps; and grandson, Wyatt Phelps of San Marcos.

Cremation arrangements were handled under the direction of Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, Beaumont.
