Jack Munson 
September 26, 1931 - December 31, 2013

  

Jack Munson, 82, of Beaumont, passed away to be with the Lord on December 31, 2013. He was born in Port Arthur, on September 26, 1931, and lived in Beaumont most of his life. Jack graduated from Beaumont High School in 1950 and attended Lamar University. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served with the Combat Engineers in Korea during the Conflict. Jack received the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, and the United Nations and Korean Service ribbons during his twelve months of Korean duty. He enjoyed hunting, camping, and traveling. He was a devoted family man to his wife, children, and grandchildren. His love for God, family, and friends endured through his last days. Jack retired from Bayer Corporation as a Staff Engineer and Project Manager.

 

He is preceded in death by his father, John Peter Munson; mother, Margaret Roena Munson; sister, Ruth Adriane Meads; and son, Douglas Carl Munson.

 

Survivors include his wife of fifty-seven, Lyndall Munson; two daughters, Jackie Lynn Suarez of Houston and Lyndall Darlene Armstrong and her husband, Michael Lloyd Armstrong of Thornton, Colorado; granddaughters, Chelsea Lynn Suarez, Morgan Lyndall Armstrong, and Kaylee Marie Suarez; grandson, Cody Michael Armstrong; and nephews and nieces.

 

His memorial service, including full Military Honors, will be held Saturday, January 4, 2014, at 11:00 a.m., at Calder Baptist Church, 1005 North 11th Street, in Beaumont, with The Reverend Dr. James Fuller presiding, under the direction of Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. After the service, a committal of his cremated body will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont.
