Ruth Pearl Giroir Enderle
December 4, 1918 - December 26, 2013 |
Ruth Pearl Giroir Enderle was born on December 4, 1918, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, to Alphra and Harry Giroir. After the death of her father, when she was a young girl, the family moved to Texas, living in Houston, Galveston and then Beaumont. Where she met the love of her life, Clarence William Enderle, Sr. They were married September 18, 1939, after a honeymoon in San Francisco and visiting the World’s Fair, they returned to Texas. She always said that she could never have even imagined that she would be a part of such a large and wonderfully caring family. They always made her feel as if she belonged. It wasn’t long after that she decided to also be a part of the Catholic family. The first five years of their life together was spent on a rail campcar, while Clarence did track maintenance for the Southern Pacific Railroad. They made Beaumont their permanent home after the birth of their first child Clarence William “Bill” Enderle, Jr. With each new addition to the family came a new addition to the house. They would eventually add on room for David, Donnie, Paul, and Susan. The house was filled with love and the best seafood gumbo ever. Ruth is preceded in death by her love, Clarence; sons, Bill and Donnie; and grandson, Eric. She also felt a deep sorrow with the passing of all her in-laws: Clarence’s brothers, sisters, and their extended family, with which she always felt a loving closeness to. She is survived by her sisters, Loraine McLerran of Yoakum and Doris Huffman of Arcadia; brother, Nicholas Burns of Santa Fe; sons, David Enderle of Vidor, Paul Enderle and his wife, Melanie, of Kountze; daughter, Susan McFaddin and her husband, James, of Beaumont; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great- great grandchildren. Ruth would not think of herself as someone who accomplished great things. But in our hearts and memories she did. She instilled in us the family values and faith that sustains us today. She taught us not only life’s lessons, but most importantly, God’s lessons. Through her example as a wonderful mother, grandmother, aunt, friend, and a person devoted to her faith we will never forget her sacrifices and love. She will always remain with us in quiet moments in our heart and memories. We take solace in knowing that she is there, in heaven, at that large family reunion. She will be greeted with open arms, big hugs and a welcome to the family. A gathering of Mrs. Enderle’s family and friends will be from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., with a Rosary to be recited directly following visitation, Sunday, December 29, 2013, at Broussard’s, 2000 McFaddin Avenue, Beaumont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Monday, December 30, 2013, at St. Anthony Cathedral Basilica, 700 Jefferson, Beaumont, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mrs. Enderle’s name to St. Anthony Cathedral Catholic School, 850 Forsythe, Beaumont, Texas 77701.
